In an effort to promote the safety and wellbeing of our community, The Tacoma Pierce-County Health Department recently introduced their BRAVO pilot program, which is offering support to local restaurants and businesses that are voluntarily requiring customers to provide proof of vaccination in order to enjoy their services indoors.

Although Pierce County does not require proof of vaccination to dine indoors and health guidelines in neighboring counties are easing, BRAVO, which stands for businesses requiring a vaccine verification onsite, is providing the businesses who have stepped up to participate with helpful resources and guidance as the pandemic continues on.

So far the pilot program has six participating businesses: Crudo & Crotto, Edison City Ale House, and downtown establishments Red Star Taco Bar, The Mix and ALMA. And more restaurants are beginning to inquire about the program after hearing of the positive feedback that restaurant owners have received since taking part in the program.

“Money is never going to be more important than their health and safety,” says Billy Beckett, Co-Owner of Red Star Taco Bar stated. “This is a place where people can come and be safe… We’re getting tons and tons of positive feedback from the people who come here.”

Visit the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department online to learn more about the BRAVO program and to hear from other participating restaurants on their efforts to make Tacoma and Pierce County a safe and healthy community for all.
