April is Earth Month, and Earth Day is coming up on Friday, April 22nd! If you’re looking for some different ways that you or your family and friends can get involved to help make Downtown Tacoma a cleaner, greener place, you won’t want to miss the great events happening this weekend on Saturday, April 16th.

Clean Up Downtown with Litter Free 253

Start off your Saturday by taking part in Litter Free 253’s third annual city-wide cleanup event. While there will be a number of cleanup sites throughout Tacoma, the downtown community will gather at the Tacoma Art Museum’s parking lot beginning at 9am.

At the cleanup meeting site, you’ll find a Litter Free 253 Leader, as well as a designated Litter Free 253 City dumpster. Upon arrival, please find your Litter Leader to sign in and get your supplies, which includes City of Tacoma garbage bags, disposable gloves, and litter grabbers.

What to Bring:

  • Dress for rain or sun
  • Thick-soled, close-toe shoes
  • Long pants and a long-sleeved shirt
  • Safety vest or bright colors for visibility
  • Gloves and a litter grabber if you have them
  • Hand sanitizer

Help keep downtown clean, and join this free and fun event on Saturday, April 16th from 9am – 11am. Registration is required and more information can be found here. Be sure to follow Litter Free 253 on social media for additional resources and to learn more.
