Start the 2022 holiday season with the 77th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting in front of the Pantages Theater at South 9th Street and Broadway. This beloved Tacoma tradition will take place on Sunday, November 27, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Before the festivities begin, Tacoma Concert Band will present a holiday musical showcase “Sound the Bells” starting at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for the Tacoma Concert Band performance are available on ticketmaster.com. This show is free for children under 18. The tree lighting ceremony and festivities in the Pantages lobby are free to the public and tickets are not required.

Tacoma’s Resident Art Organizations will play host, including Northwest Sinfonietta, Puget Sound Revels, Symphony Tacoma, Tacoma Arts Live, Tacoma City Ballet, Tacoma Concert Band, Tacoma Opera, and the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association. Community members can meet them all in the festively decorated Pantages lobby with sparkling decorated trees and display tables.

Attendees will enjoy Corina Bakery's special cookies, hot drinks, mingling Nutcracker ballerinas' courtesy of Tacoma City Ballet, Christmas carolers by the Puget Sound Revels, and a joint string quartet courtesy of Northwest Sinfonietta and Symphony Tacoma. In addition, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will kick-off the holiday season with a special story read by old St. Nick himself, followed by the tree-lighting countdown.
