Pierce County and the City of Tacoma have officially declared the month of October Healthcare Heroes month! As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, there has been a surge of confirmed cases and hospitalizations in Pierce County. Our healthcare workers have been working tirelessly to provide services to these people in need, which takes a toll on their mental, physical, and spiritual health.

In order to give back, seven south sound organizations are working together to launch a Healthcare Heroes website which includes multiple ways to donate to healthcare workers. Part of the website is Hero Meals. Downtown Tacoma Partnership created this program in April 2020, now it’s better than ever as we expand county-wide! A $25 donation purchases 3 meals from participating Pierce County restaurants, $250 purchases 30 meals, and $500 purchases 60 meals. All meals are purchased from participating Pierce County restaurants and go directly to frontline healthcare workers.

To donate to Hero Meals or to look for other opportunities to show support visit the Healthcare Heroes website.

We are grateful for our participating restaurants Pita Pit, The Koi, Happy Belly, Farm 12, Moctezuma’s, Zeek’s Pizza, and Stink Wine and Cheese.

Downtown Tacoma Partnership is excited to partner with the following organizations: the Economic Development Board, Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce, Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, and South Sound Business.
