Brighter and warmer days are finally here in Downtown Tacoma! While intermittent spring showers are inevitable in the Pacific Northwest, nothing seems to beat being downtown on a clear bluebird day.

Soak up some sunshine and enjoy patio season during the warm days ahead with a visit to one of Downtown Tacoma’s many restaurants, cafes, and bars with outdoor seating. 

Whether you’re looking to grab a coffee, cocktail, or delicious meal, there are plenty of outdoor options to choose from. 


Bars in Downtown Tacoma with Outdoor Seating 

En Rama: If craft cocktails, savory small plates, and fresh pasta are your angle, enRama’s outdoor patio has you covered. Don’t miss happy hour from 3-5pm Tuesday through Saturday. En Rama’s patio is all ages friendly, but indoor dining is for 21+ only. 

Cider & Cedar: Kick back with a cold craft cider on this unique patio featuring stunning natural live-edge, old-growth cedar tables.

Incline Cider House: Sip some cider in the sunshine at Incline’s family-owned and operated tavern where they offer a selection of 16 craft ciders on tap along with a rotating selection of local beers and wines.

The Forum: Stop by downtown’s classic tavern located in the historic old Olympus Hotel for some cold beers, cool cocktails, and all American grub. 

Matador: Order up a margarita and enjoy some great Mexican food out on the patio at one of downtown’s favorite local establishments.  

McMenamins Elks Temple: Grab a drink or dine outdoors on McMenamin’s beautiful and historic Spanish Steps. Additional outdoor seating at McMenamins can be found at the top of the steps located along Broadway’s vibrant streetscape. 

Odd Otter Brewing Company: Enjoy a cold craft beer or cider outside at Odd Otter where their small-batch creations are brewed right on site. 

The Office Bar & Grill: Catch some rays while you enjoy some from-scratch American Pub Style food and full bar with a great happy hour. 

Meconi’s Tacoma Pub: Sit outside this casual downtown sports bar and beat the heat with a cocktail and some great pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and more. 

The Mix: Pull up a seat and order a drink to enjoy on the patio at Tacoma’s favorite LQBTQ+ neighborhood bar. Happy hour is daily from 2-7pm.

Apizza Little Italy: Is there anything better than pizza and sunshine? Grab a table outside and enjoy a slice of Little Italy right here in Downtown Tacoma with Apizza’s incredible Italian fare.

Camp Colvos Brewing + Pizza Co: Kick back on the patio at Camp Colvos with a perfect slice of pizza and a cold craft beer or cocktail. 

Fujiya Japanese: Although outdoor seating is limited, Fujiya has a few outdoor tables that are perfect to enjoy lunch or dinner outdoors as you savor their delicious traditional Japanese fare. 

Indochine Asian Dining Lounge: Dine outside at one of downtown’s favorite restaurants where you are sure to enjoy their amazing Asian Fusion menu.

The Koi: If you love sushi, bento, and great Japanese cuisine, take a seat at one of the cozy outdoor tables at The Koi located near UW Tacoma and Tollefson Plaza. 

Sam Choy’s Poke: Enjoy a taste of the islands with delicious poke and Hawaiian food from a sunny seat on Pacific Avenue as you take in the hustle and bustle of the city. 

Thai Pepper: Take in views of Old City Hall from your outdoor seat as you enjoy Thai favorites like bahm mi, fresh salads, summer rolls and more.

Zeeks Pizza: Sit back and relax on Zeek’s outdoor patio on the UW Tacoma campus with one of their signature craft pizzas and cold draft beer. 

Wooden City: From woodfired pizzas and shareable plates to specialty craft cocktails and more, grab a seat outdoors and enjoy Wooden City’s robust menu that offers something special for everyone.

Anthem Coffee: Enjoy your cup of morning coffee as you take in views of Union Station, the Bridge of Glass, and the Washington State History Museum from a cozy chair outside Anthem. 

Cremello Cafe: Pull up a seat outdoors at this new downtown cafe located at the historic Bostwick Building on the corner of Broadway where you can get a great organic coffee, tea, or bite to eat. 

Dancing Goats Coffee: Take a seat on the patio at Dancing Goats in the heart of downtown’s historic Brewery Blocks. 

Metro Coffee: Tucked away on the campus of UW Tacoma, Metro Coffee’s patio is the perfect spot to enjoy your caffeine with a side of sunshine. 

The Method: While there technically aren’t outdoor tables to occupy, this downtown cafe lets the sun shine in when they roll up their garage-style door creating the perfect indoor/outdoor environment from their full service cafe and skate shop.
