Tacoma Beer Week is raising a glass to craft, community, and Tacoma’s rich brewing history, and Downtown Tacoma is right at the heart of the celebration.
Founded in 2014, this volunteer-led event brings together breweries, businesses, artists, musicians, nonprofits, and beer lovers for a week of fun, innovative, and educational events. In 2025, Tacoma Beer Week moved from its traditional August timing to March to better support local businesses during a slower season — and the impact was clear, with 50 events across 31 locations and more than 80 partners participating.
Whether you’re a longtime craft enthusiast or just looking for a reason to explore downtown, Tacoma Beer Week is the perfect excuse to get out and about. Here are a few highlights happening in Downtown Tacoma:
Official Beer Launch + Pre-Funk
Friday, February 27
📍 Odd Otter Brewing Company
Kick off the week with the official beer launch and pre-funk celebration at Odd Otter. Expect fresh pours, good company, and a lively start to Tacoma Beer Week.
Blades & Brews
Saturday, February 28
📍 Axe Academy
Beer and axe throwing? Yes, please.
All week long, enjoy 20% off axe throwing with any beer purchase. On Saturday, join Axe Academy and Odd Otter for a special Blades & Brews event pairing friendly competition with local craft pours.
Heidelberg Derby
Monday, March 2
📍 7 Seas Brewing Co.
The Heidelberg Derby is a family-friendly pinewood derby-style competition — with a twist. Instead of wood, you’ll craft your race car out of a can.
Bring an empty can from home (or grab one from the brewery), start building at 5:30 PM, and race at 7 PM for prizes and bragging rights.
Beer & Cheese Pairing
Tuesday, March 3
📍 Stink: Cheese & Meat
A downtown favorite sets the scene for a thoughtfully curated beer and cheese pairing. Explore new flavor combinations, learn from the experts, and enjoy an elevated midweek outing.
Who Closed Last Night?!
Sunday, March 8
📍 Brewery Blocks Neighborhood
Close out Tacoma Beer Week by giving back. Join fellow beer lovers on the final day to help clean-up the historic brewery blocks in Downtown Tacoma — a meaningful way to celebrate responsibly and support the neighborhood that makes this week possible.
