Downtown Tacoma is full of options to help you explore our city. Whether you’re walking, biking, catching a bus, or hopping on a scooter, there are easy ways to get around. Need to drive? Check out Lyft and Uber in Tacoma, or read up on the City’s parking options.

TACOMA TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

Driving

From North or South I-5, take exit 133 onto I-705. From I-705, you can get off at S 21st, S 15th, A Street or Stadium Way. Any of those options will bring you into the heart of Downtown Tacoma.

Link light rail

The Tacoma Link Light Rail is a free and easy way to get around Downtown Tacoma. It is offered 365 days a year, runs approximately every 12 minutes, and makes six stops between the Tacoma Dome and the Theater District. The Downtown Tacoma Partnership covers the cost to keep it free to ride, so enjoy!

WALK

With only a 20 minute walk separating one end of downtown from the other, hitting the streets is a great way to get a feel for the area. Check out these walking maps for some of our favorite routes.

Pierce and Sound Transit offer transportation options to and around Downtown Tacoma. Get a full schedule and plan your trip at Pierce Transit or Sound Transit

bike

Biking is an easy way to get around Downtown Tacoma, and there are 15 businesses downtown that are equipped with bike pumps and locks for you to use. Check out a bike map and hit the road.

scooter
