Corsets are one of the most misunderstood undergarments ever. Our lecture will cover corsets/stays/bodies worn since the 1500s. Corsets have been used by men and women alike to alter the shape of the body and support outer wear. Worn by every class and in all situations, there were different types of corsets for different activities and types of outer wear just like modern undergarments today.

Come join us for this two-hour lecture where we discuss the different types of corsets worn between the late 1500s to 1900. We will also go over how to build a basic corset, different sources for corset materials, and local businesses who create them.
