Calling all lovers of the arts! This week, artists from across the nation and around the world will gather in Downtown Tacoma for the Glass Art Society’s annual international conference, and the first ever “TAG Festival: Together In Art and Glass” taking place on Sunday, May 22nd.

The new one-day festival is free to the public and will showcase the work of countless artists ranging from glass artists, sculptors and muralists, to potters, painters, ceramicists and jewelers. While art is at the forefront of the event, visitors will also enjoy exciting live entertainment and music, delicious food vendors, multiple beer gardens and more spanning along Pacific Avenue from the Tacoma Art Museum to the Washington State History Museum, and over to the Bridge of Glass and Museum of Glass plaza.

Festival goers can browse offerings from over 100 vendors, watch art demonstrations including live glass blowing at portable hot shops, and gain free admission into the surrounding glass, art, history, and seaport museums.

“This is an incredible opportunity for us to bring the community together for something that’s joyful, artistic, and interactive, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it,” said Travel Tacoma CEO Dean Burke. “After two years of lockdowns and canceled events, it feels amazing to welcome people to Tacoma for a party that celebrates our vibrant art scene and incredible artists. This is going to be a spectacular event.”

Join the TAG Festival’s celebration of art, music, and community this weekend on Sunday, May 22nd from 10am – 5pm.

Pacific Avenue will remain open to vehicle traffic and businesses will remain open during the event.
