This year, Halloween falls on a Monday, October 31st, but much of the festive fun will be taking place downtown this weekend. From costume contests and concerts to crafting and more, read on to discover a number of enchanting Halloween events happening later this week in Downtown Tacoma.

Friday, October 28

Pretty Gritty Tours – Boos & Booze Downtown Ghost Tour:

Don’t miss Pretty Gritty’s haunted tour of Tacoma with two stops at local haunted breweries. Start off with a meet up at a brewery where you can enjoy a taster tray while your guide sets up the backstory that leads to the most intriguing curse in Tacoma, before heading out around Downtown Tacoma. Saturday, October 29

Spanish Ballroom – 90’s Halloween Costume Ball:

Enjoy Tacoma’s biggest and best Halloween party with a very 90’s Costume Party at McMenamin’s historic Spanish Ballroom this Saturday, October 29th to enjoy amazing decorations, festivities, dancing, and all your favorite music videos from the 1990’s. $20 entry fee, tickets available at the door.

Steel Creek – Annual Halloween Party & Costume Contest:

Each year, Downtown Tacoma’s country bar, Steel Creek, hosts one of the biggest Halloween parties in the South Sound with an exciting Costume Contest featuring $2,000 in total cash prizes. The contest is split into two categories with each competing for a $1,000 cash prize. Categories include: “Best Overall” and “Best Group/Couple”. 

Downtown Tacoma Bar Crawl:

Get dressed up in your best costume and hit the town at this Halloween Bar Crawl taking place throughout Downtown Tacoma. Enjoy stops at Steel Creek, Dorky’s Arcade, Pint & Pie Public House, Puget Sound Pizza, Rusty Goat, and Bullseye Lane Axe Throwing. Ticket prices range from $20 – $25 and include: 

  • $1,000 Grand Prize Costume Contest entry

Tacoma Youth Symphony – A Night at the Movies Costume Concert:

Enjoy an evening in costume at The Pantages Theater as you enjoy all of the orchestras of the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association for a fun-filled evening of music from hit movies, tv shows, and other chilling music. Musicians will perform in costume and encourage the audience to dress up, as well. Tickets are available online here.

Tacoma City Ballet – The Haunted Theatre: 

Bring the whole family to enjoy Tacoma City Ballet’s The Haunted Theatre from their historic ballroom in the Merlino Art Center as they present short and delightful ballets that celebrate Halloween. Learn more or get tickets today here

Craftopia – Magic Wands Craft Class:

Grab the family and join Craftopia as they make magic wands. Using a large variety of materials, you can design and decorate your wand to your heart’s content. Wands are $10 a piece and constructed from wood. Ages 5+  Register at www.craftopiawa.com

Craftopia – Haunted Jar Craft Class:
